Alex Thomas Research Manager, Macro / John Burns Research & Consulting
Alex has spent over 6 years helping track macro-level economic and housing trends and data for JBREC’s research team. He also covers the fix-and-flip space and commercial real estate market for JBREC. Prior to JBREC, Alex was on the research teams at the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., as well as the Center for Opportunity Urbanism in California. Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Chapman University.

Tom Hallock, VP, Head of Construction Lending at Kiavi, brings decades of experience in construction financing and real estate investment lending. Before joining Kiavi, Tom held leadership roles such as Chief Lending Officer at DPL Capital and Genesis Capital, as well as Head of Loan Products at PeerStreet. A seasoned expert in construction financing, Tom oversees Kiavi’s Construction Lending division, driving product development, team leadership, and growth strategies to support clients in achieving their investment goals.
